Biography

Leif Eisenberg is an author and filmmaker from Bavaria with a special fascination for historical, mythical and also a bit spooky material.

He is attracted by romance and madness, the dark forest, the eternal search for God and death as the only certainty.

Since 2020, he is studying film and media with a focus on screenwriting at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.

KNIGHT, DEATH AND THE DEVIL at HISTORY FILMFEST AUSTRIA

On July 10, 2024, "Ritter, Tod und Teufel" will be shown in the Migration Period and Middle Ages category at the HISTORY FILMFEST AUSTRIA.

Premiere of DAEMONICON at Seriencamp Cologne

On June 5, 2024, the pilot of the dark fantasy series DAEMONICON, in which Leif Eisenberg was involved as a screenwriter and actor, will premiere at Seriencamp Cologne.

Premiere of POOR SINNER in St. Charles, Missouri

On May 1, 2024, POOR SINNER premiered at the Lindenwood Theater, winning awards for Best Editing, Best Direction, and Best Film.

POOR SINNER completed

POOR SINNER tells the story of a serial killer seeking solace in the sacrament of confession. Leif Eisenberg wrote the screenplay and directed the film.

Premiere of ỌKPẸN-ẸZẸ

On Tuesday, December 5, 2023, ỌKPẸN-ẸZẸ (BY THE RIVERSIDE) premiered at the Goethe Institute in Lagos, Nigeria. The screenplay was written by Leif Eisenberg, together with Nigerian writer Oluwagbemiga Idahosa.

Participation in NOLLYWOOD WORKSHOP in Nigeria

Leif Eisenberg participated in a month-long workshop in Nigeria, during which the short film "ỌKPẸN-ẸZẸ" was created with Nigerian filmmakers, addressing Nigerian mythology and demonic possession.

The feature film screenplay „The Bishop‘s Crown“ was nominated for Best Pitch at the international Film Festival „Sehsüchte“

Synopsis:
After gouging out the eye of the encroaching Archbishop Hilarius, the 18-year-old nun Magdalena is on the run from his henchmen.
In the dark woods she meets the notorious highwayman Albrecht Moorbrunn, with whom she instigates a peasant uprising against the Catholic rule of the early 16th century.

Participation in the international film festival “Sehsüchte”

Leif Eisenberg will take part in the pitch competition of the international student festival “Sehsüchte” on April 22nd, 2023 with his current feature film script “The Bishop’s Crown”.

Synopsis:
After gouging out the eye of the overreaching princely court Hilarius, the nun Magdalena is on the run from his entourage. She meets the notorious robber Albrecht Moorbrunn and rebels with him against Catholic rule in the early 16th century. A fictional revenge film.

“Knights, Death and the Devil” filmed

The new short film by Leif Eisenberg “Knight, Death and the Devil” has been shot and is currently in post-production.
Completion is scheduled for May 2023. As soon as screening dates are known, they will be published on the website.
